Study Subjects:

Why did you study these subjects?
I loved science at school, and wanted to continue this interest into college. I also knew that I wanted to do a science degree at university, but did not know which one. Taking these subjects allowed me to keep my options open as to what I wanted to do in the future and find out where my real interests lie. Science was also my best subject at secondary school so I decided to choose subjects at sixth form that I was good at.

Performing in the end of year summer show… It was amazing!! I loved being able to be part of a production that was of a professional standard while being a ‘school show’. The show included a Disney medley (anything Disney related is my favourite!) and allowed me to mix with students of all age groups and performing experiences. It was a lot of work (rehearsals and learning cues and lyrics) but it was so worth it in the end to stand on the stage and perform with such a talented and lovely group of people. The transformation of the sports hall into a cabaret style auditorium was incredible as well!

How did Carmel College help you prepare for the future?
It allowed me to become more confident with the idea of independent work, which helped me a lot moving to university (where most of the work is independent). It allowed me to experience the Catholic faith, which has driven me to become more involved in religion and the church. It allowed me to make the best friends, who were all in the same classes as me, and who I am still extremely close to now. It gave me the experience of being able to talk to someone when I was struggling or needed help, and encouraged me to not keep it inside (which is something I used to do a lot!). This has helped me as it allows me to deal with situations I face in a more open way.

Where are you now?
I am studying Medicine at Leeds University.
