Study Subjects:
English Literature
Performing arts
Philosophy
Ethics
Why did you study these subjects?
I decided to study these subjects as I feel like I am quite a creative person and performing arts gives me the opportunity to do so, performing on stage and studying theatre in general I find incredibly interesting. In terms of English literature reading and analysing texts allows me to form my own views on literary works, this is similar to philosophy and ethics where I can form my own opinions of different theory’s.
Tell us your favourite memory of your time at Carmel college sixth form
Within my time at Carmel I have two significant memories, one being travelling to Lourdes and the other being choreographing the school show ‘there’s only this’ 2019. Firstly Lourdes was one of the most influential weeks of my life being able to put a smile on the less abled faces was incredibly rewarding, we managed to do this by singing dancing and face painting all week, it was brilliant’ secondly the school show allowed me to involve my passion for dance outside of college to transfer in my college life. Creating numbers and teaching them to a group of incredibly talented dancers gave me huge satisfaction when it all came together for the show run.
How did Carmel College help you prepare for the future?
Carmel college has prepared me for the future by providing lots of career advice and also allowing us into an insight into the working world by having a week of work experience. All these extra opportunities that we are given outside of the day to day studies slow us to become well rounded individuals for the future whatever that may hold!
