Before coming to Carmel I was quite apprehensive as I was an external student from St Aidans, in the first week I knew I had made the right decision. I was made to feel very welcome and the support at Carmel was amazing. I got to take part in lots of different activities and opportunities whilst being apart of the college, my favourites being the pilgrimage to Lourdes and Santa dash. When starting college I didn’t really know my end goal until I was in 2nd year where I realised my dream job would be to be a nurse. I am now at the University of York studying adult nursing.

As a student who joined Carmel only during Sixth Form, the staff were extremely helpful and often provided support in situations I wasn’t aware I needed support in. The smaller class sizes ensured that any help that was needed was not missed, and also granted me more confidence to speak out. As a Sixth Form, there has not been a moment where I regretted choosing Carmel, and everything I learned both in and out of class have helped me in my endeavours at university and no doubt my future careers.

My decision to study at Carmel was an easy one as their results spoke for themselves and I was already aware of the brilliant support system in place. The smaller class sizes lead to a great relationship with the staff and a focus on your personal goals and development. I have made both great friends and lasting memories and it’s a time I will look back on with immense fondness.
