A huge congratulations to Year 13 student Sophie, who has enjoyed an outstanding year of success on the national and international bowls stage.
Sophie was selected to represent the England Under-18 team at the British Bowls U18 International Series, competing against the best young players from Scotland, Ireland and Wales. As part of a talented England squad, Sophie played a key role in helping her team secure gold, successfully retaining the trophy for another year.
Her impressive performances throughout the competition did not go unnoticed, earning her several mentions in Bowls England's official competition report.
The success continued at the National Finals in Leamington Spa, where Sophie qualified for multiple events and achieved the remarkable feat of becoming National Under-17 Champion.
This latest achievement has earned Sophie another England call-up, with her set to represent her country once again at the British Bowls Championships in June 2027.
These accomplishments are a testament to Sophie's dedication, talent and hard work, both on and off the green. To compete at the highest level nationally and internationally is a remarkable achievement, and everyone at Carmel College Sixth Form is incredibly proud of her success.
Congratulations, Sophie. England gold medallist. National champion. What an incredible year!
