A-Level Results Day 2026 - Charlie becomes first in his family to attend university
Top student Charlie will become the first member of his family to attend university when he begins his degree course this September. While many young men from the Traveller community leave full-time schooling by their early teens, Charlie instead found joy and success in education at Carmel College, in Darlington.

One high-flying North East student may have her eyes set on Downing Street one day as she collects her A-Level results. Scarlett, who attended Carmel College Sixth Form, in Darlington, hopes her offer from Oxford University to study English and History will help launch her into a career in politics.
