A Week Full of Opportunities and Inspiration
Year 12 students at Carmel College Sixth Form recently enjoyed a fantastic week of experiences designed to help them explore future education and career pathways.
The opportunities provided valuable insights into both STEM careers and university life, helping students consider their next steps with confidence.
Representing Carmel at the NYBEP STEM Event
Students took part in the NYBEP STEM Morning, where they had the opportunity to work alongside employers from the NHS, CDDT, Longworth Group and Magnet.
Throughout the event, students represented Carmel brilliantly, demonstrating confidence, professionalism and genuine curiosity. Employers praised their positive attitudes, excellent communication skills and willingness to engage with activities and discussions.
The experience allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the skills and opportunities available within STEM-related industries.
Experiencing University Life at Northumbria
The week also included a visit to Northumbria University Open Day, where students explored the campus, viewed accommodation and attended taster sessions across a variety of subject areas.
The visit provided a valuable insight into university life, enabling students to ask questions, learn about higher education options and experience what studying at university could be like in the future.
Looking Ahead to Future Success
These experiences have helped students broaden their horizons, explore potential career paths and develop a greater understanding of the opportunities available to them after sixth form.
A huge well done to all the students involved. Their maturity, enthusiasm and professionalism made Carmel College Sixth Form proud.
