THE PROGRAMME
The AQA A-level French course develops confident, fluent communication and a deep understanding of French-speaking society and culture. Students explore themes such as family, technology, volunteering, music, cinema, heritage, diversity, crime, and political engagement across the French-speaking world. Assessment is through three papers: a Listening, Reading and Writing paper (50%), a Writing paper (20%) with essays on a film and a text, and a Speaking exam (30%) that includes discussion of a stimulus card and an Independent Research Project on a personally chosen topic. The course builds linguistic precision, cultural insight, and analytical skills, preparing students for further study and global careers.
